Shaun T Insanity VS the P90X Workout Program – Which One is Better?

Over the next couple minutes you will learn the comparisons and differences between these two rival “workout at home” exercise programs.

The P90X workout program used to be the one exercise program that everyone knew thanks to early morning and late night infomercials. Recently Beachbody added a new program to the game that to some may be considered a rival, that program is Shaun T Insanity.

But which one is more intense?

Comparably they are both equal in their own rights but each workout program focuses on a different approach towards fitness.

I have personally used both programs and this gives me the rare opportunity to offer a first hand look at both the P90X workout program and Shaun T Insanity. After this article you will be fully equipped with the answers you are looking for.

Which works better? P90X or the Insanity workout?

Great questions, though it’s hard to put both workout programs side by side as it’s not a simple apples to apples comparison but more like apples to oranges. Both programs are capable of offering a huge physical challenge but each has it’s own approach and it’s own target results. I’ll explain.

The P90X workout program is a 90 day system which could otherwise be considered an “at home boot camp”. You will need a chin up bar, a chair, a set of dumbbells and/or bands, shoes, plus about 1 hour to 1 hour and a half 6 days a week. The 7th day is an optional stretch or complete rest day.

From first hand experience I like to look at P90X as a “all-in-one” program. It is not designed to just bulk you up, it’s not going to just help you lose weight, it’s not just balance, and it’s not just cardio.

The P90X workout program just tosses a bit of everything into the equation. You lift heavy one day (or light if you want);, you’re punching and kicking with Kenpo karate another day, and to top it off on other days you will be doing 1 and a half hours of Yoga for a complete mind/ body/ soul adventure.

You will go through three phases of 1 month each in P90X with each month switching it up. Most of the cardio, stretch, and balance routines stay the same. The difference in each phase is that you change out the resistance workouts so that your muscles are constantly challenged so they will always be receptive to the workout rather than plateauing.

Shaun T Insanity takes a completely different approach. The workout program is 60-days in length and is based solely on Plyometrics, Core, and Cardio training. You will not lift weights, you will not do chin ups, you don’t need a chair, and the workouts range from 35-45 minutes the first phase to 1 hour and 15 minutes the second phase.

You will need very good shoes, preferably a mat to jump on, and near perfect form to avoid injury.

Essential Protective Gear – Athletic Mouthguard

The Athletic mouthguard has come a very long way from the beginning where a mouthguard was a block of rubber gum. However, the purpose remains the same to protect the mouth and jaw from trauma during sports. The first athletic mouthguards were reportedly used for boxing but have gradually become popular in any sport where there is danger of trauma to the mouth.

Athletic mouthguards are mandatory in many professional competitions including martial arts, soccer, and boxing. Schools and junior teams may also require the use of the athletic mouthguard to protect young athlete's teeth and mouth.

Although the original mouthguards were bulky and fitted poorly in the mouth, they did provide some protection. Today there are designs that are more advanced and materials and the protection provided by these devices is far superior. There are three different types of athletic mouthguards available but many variations between the types.

The most well-preserved and secure of all is the dentist fitted custom athletic mouthguard. A dentist fits these protective devices after a brief and painless visit. The impression is then sent to the manufacturer's lab where a mouth guard is especially made of acrylic for that athlete's mouth. Choices in colors and in applicable logos are available from better manufacturers. However, the real appeal is that these athletic mouthguards fit snugly. Dentist fitted mouthguards do not interfere with speaking or breathing as less well fitted types made of inferior materials might.

There are some types of athletic mouthguards called boil and bite. These mouthguards are home fitted and despite better than no protection, this choice does not usually seat as securely and can thin during the fitting process leaving the lips or jaw or teeth more vulnerable to damage.

The final type of athletic mouth guard is called off the shelf or stock. This type of mouthguard allows only trimming to fit and provides the least protection in most cases. Athletes take their equipment seriously and you would almost never see a professional player wearing anything but a dentist fitted custom mouth guard. That is because with many sports no matter how enjoyable they are, there is also the risk of injury to the mouth or jaw. Because losing a tooth to a sports accident is not only expensive but also time consuming most athletes and clubs prefer to avoid injuries with a protective mouthpiece.

Junior sports leagues, schools and other athletic organizers will often require young athletes wear athletic mouth guards during practice and competitions. Growing bones and teeth can easily be injured in the heat of intense competition or game play and the mouth guard protect against some types of traumas.

The flashy variety of colors appeal to both young and more mature athletes and mouthpieces are also engraved with the owner's name. Some companies can apply Logos and school colors so that the athletic mouth guard matches the school or team colors exactly. This is a novel way to encourage wearing an athletic mouth guard as well as …

A very major emergency could also arise as a result of wearing retainers or braces. If you find that there is some kind of an irritation that is being caused and a wire is the reason behind it, you need to take a small cotton ball and put it on the end of the wire in such a way that the end is totally covered with the cotton. You must keep this until the time you reach the dentist.

If you find that there is a wire that has got stuck in your tongue, cheek or even the tissue of your gum, never ever try to take it out by yourself or with the help of someone. 6 Reasons to Cancel or Reschedule a Party

Canceling or rescheduling a party is a very unfortunate event but often it happens as the result of uncontrollable circumstances. Knowing how to deal with the situation is of uttermost importance.

Party cancellation is disappointing and difficult to handle but a number of reasons will demand it, regardless of your intentions. Here are a number of reasons for the cancellation or rescheduling of a party and some information on addressing guests and cancellation etiquette.

People Can’t Make It

You will have to reschedule or cancel your party if too many guests are incapable of attending. Everybody wants to share big events and beautiful moments in life with dearest friends. If these people have difficulties making it to the party, choosing another date will certainly be the wisest move.

You may consider informing people about the change in person. Call everyone and you may even inquire about another date for the party to be held on.

A Storm is Coming Up

Weather can play a trick on you. It may interfere with your party planning attempts. You should reschedule your celebration in case a severe storm or another kind of meteorological disaster is expected – intense rain or snowfall, thunderstorms. It certainly is wiser to organize the party in the future than to put at risk the health and life of your guests.

Personal Tragedies

Á personal tragedy that you or one of your dearest friends has experienced is another reason for the cancellation of a celebration. Postpone the party in the case of death or illnesses of family members. It will be inappropriate to have fun while somebody you care for is mourning or feeling sick.

That Major Event

Illness

Cancel the party in the case of an illness or a medical condition. This is yet another unexpected and uncontrollable factor that will interfere with your plans and the organization process.

The Reason for Partying Has Disappeared

Sometimes, things fail going according to plan. Such sudden changes and unexpected turns may call for the cancellation of a party.

A baby shower will certainly be cancelled in the case of a miscarriage. This huge, personal tragedy changes plans and demands for rapid reaction.

Party planners should always have a backup plan. Very often, life handles us surprises that we have difficulties coping with. Party cancellation or rescheduling may be tough but it certainly …

Is it Possible to Control Blood Sugar Levels Without Medicine?

Scientists have advanced knowledge about the proteins that help control blood sugar, or glucose, during and after exercise, and this knowledge could lead to new drug therapies or exercises more effective for the prevention of Type 2 diabetes and other health problems associated with high levels of blood sugar.

Insulin resistance occurs when the body is not produced by properly stimulating the transport of glucose, a type of sugar inside the cells as an energy source. Too much glucose in the bloodstream can cause a variety of medical problems including Type 2 diabetes, said Gregory Cartee, a professor in the School of Kinesiology and principal investigator of the study. Katsuhiko Funai is the co-author, graduate student and researcher in the School of Kinesiology.

Insulin and muscle contractions are the most important stimuli that increase glucose transport into the interior of muscle cells. The cells can then use glucose for energy, said Cartee. But scientists do not know exactly how this works.

The group reacted Cartee watched two different proteins that were considered important in stimulating the transport of glucose by two different enzymes, linked also with the transport of glucose. The goal of this study was to understand the contribution of the two proteins, called AS160 and TBC1D1 in skeletal muscle stimulated by insulin.

“Trying to rule out or determine what proteins are important in the exercise,” said Cartee.

The results indicate that the protein TBC1D1 was the most important for the transport of glucose stimulated by exercise and suggested that the second protein, AS160, may be less important for this effect of exercise. Give attention to the protein works best, in this case the TBC1D1, scientists can develop methods for making proteins that work best for people with insulin resistance, Cartee said.

Insulin resistance is a major health problem affecting millions of people, he said.

“Almost all people with diabetes have Type 2 muscle resistance to insulin,” said Cartee. “This does not cause diabetes by itself, but it is an essential component that contributes to type 2 diabetes. This affects millions of people. Even people who are not diabetic insulin resistance is linked to numerous health problems. “

In the longer term people who have insulin resistance or whose muscles do not respond normally to insulin are more likely to develop Type 2 diabetes, said Cartee.

“Apparently the muscles have the machinery to respond to exercise even if they do not respond normally to insulin. If we knew how the exercise could develop more effective protocols for exercise, “he said. “In other cases of people who can not exercise, we could design a drug therapy or something else to control insulin.…
